It has really been on my heart to write about the state of our country. I cannot even begin to be an expert in this area. I am only twenty-four and, I have so much more to learn about life. The history of racism in the United States is dark and ugly.I simply wanted to share some encouragement in this area. I want to remind people that we are not the ones in control.

I did want to make it clear that our fight is not between black and white. The fight is between light and darkness. In church, on Sunday, my eyes were opened to the fact that fear controls so much of our country.

The very definition of fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat. Most of our fears are in our minds.

We cannot let fear control our actions as human beings. We have to stop fearing each other. We have to start loving each other. I am not naive to the fact that global love will not happen overnight. It will most likely never happen.

Does that mean we should just give up? Does that mean we shouldn't love people? No, it means we love hard. It means we spread the light, instead of adding to the darkness.

Jesus is greater than fear. Jesus is greater than racism. Jesus is the light in us.
